Archaeology of memories

The project addresses the concept of identity through the experience of recalling childhood memories within a familiar context. Memory is seen as something changing and uncertain, disrupting the individual's life narrative, forcing them to question their past childhood and how it affects them in the present, creating a dissociative effect on the individual. To this end, painting and its process are used as a method of searching, reconstructing, and altering family archives (photographs and videos). This reconstruction of memory through painting raises the questions: What is more truthful, painting or a photograph taken of the memory? How can we achieve the sensation of diffuse memory in painting and its materiality?
